1. Licensing
The rules for licensing for public entertainment are currently changing, so
make sure you check that the venue you have chosen has the appropriate
licence for your event, before you make a firm booking.

2. Capacity
In this listing, you will find the approximate number of people that a venue
can hold shown in brackets next to the name of the venue.

3. First Aid and Fire Safety
Always ask to have the location of the fire exits, fire extinguishers and
the First Aid Kit pointed out to you when you visit a venue with a view to
booking.

4, Setting Up Time
Always check how much setting up and clearing up time is allowed within the
hire fee.

5. Equipment Hire
Always check what is included in the basic hire fee - sometimes the use of
special items of equipment, eg a PA system or digital projector, are charged
extra.
