Sing in the Spring

Singers Inspired, Downham’s Commnuity Choir, February 2009

Downham Market’s Community Choir, Singers Inspired, held an all day singing workshop, at Denver Village Hall on Saturday 28th February 2009.

Led by Stephanie Anderson, a talented and enthusiastic choir leader and natural voice practitioner from Vocal Chords Community Choir, the participants were taught a wide variety of songs from across the world ranging from African chants through a song from Spanish Civil War, a Japanese round, to Shape Note – a musical form that has its origins in the religious communities of Deep South of America in the 19century.

Stephanie’s style is fun, inclusive and easy to follow – even for those people who have never sung before - with no music and no expectation anyone can read music, every thing is taught by ear.

Singers Inspired’s various workshop are beginning to create quite a following and people came from from as far a field as Norwich and Lincoln to take part in Saturday’s event.
