Held at March Town Hall on Friday 19th November 2010, the DUDI Night raised over £200 for Bryony Parkin, of Fenland Arts, to put towards her funds to volunteer in Africa next May.
Local performer and songwriter Bondy opened with Greenday – Time of Your Life, which he dedicated to Bryony and her trip. He then showed off his song writing talent by playing his own songs, of which his fans were singing along to. Tom Harlock and Aimee Peart-Webb sang a couple of vocally outstanding duets. The bands acoustic set was excellent, the young people in the crowd appreciated the cover of Alicia Keys – Empire State of Mind, and after introducing the drums and keyboard, their cover of The Monkees - I’m a Believer was energetic and entertaining. Tom Harlock surprised the crowd with his talent on the harmonica, and every song showed off the band members’ versatility of playing a range of instruments; Andy Hill on base guitar, Bondy singing, playing the drums and guitar, Aimee singing, playing the keyboard, guitar, and tambourine, and Tom playing guitar, harmonica and drums.
Bryony is holding a free follow up event on the 1st July 2011 where she will evaluate the affects of the trip on herself and the Malawi community. For further information please contact Bryony at Fenland Arts – 01354 652769.
